Anand, the Management Guru

Management Studies

He joined Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for M Tech but had to give it up as the family faced financial crisis and took up jobs in Mumbai. After saving some money, he went to Indian Institute of management, Ahmedabad (at the time India’s best Business School) where he got his MBA. He took up a job in an oil company and simultaneously enrolled in Bombay University for Ph. D. in Management and completed it 1995. He worked on the problem of modeling social systems using principles of Cybernetics, Information Theory and Game Theory, devising a novel methodology.

  • Ranked among the top 20 people who influenced IT in India by DataQuest for consecutive three years (1999 to 2001).

  • Recipient of top award for ‘Outstanding CIO’, a citation by the CIOs’ Club, Bombay for the significant contributions to spread of IT. Also received ‘CIO of the Year’, ‘IT-Man of the Year’ and many such awards.

  • Was conferred a Doctor of Literature (D Litt) (honouris causa) by Karnataka State University, Mysore in 2014.
